Last summer, Bob Tregilus captured the first pictures of Tesla's Gigafactory for GTM, after climbing the surrounding mountain ridges to watch construction.

It was only a matter of time before someone got a drone to do the spying work. 

This week, footage emerged on YouTube of the Gigafactory under construction. The high-definition clips show different angles of the first building, which Elon Musk says is just a pilot plant one-quarter the size of the final factory. 

When fully completed, Tesla's $5 billion factory will pump out more batteries in 2020 than the whole world was producing in 2013.

The single building is not the most exciting image. But sweeping 4K-resolution drone footage will make anything look cool. Watch it:
