The current President and CEO at Serious Energy is Tassilo Baeuerle, who led "General Biofuels from unknown startup to respected developer of biomass pellet facilities with projects throughout North America," according to his company bio. He's a manufacturing guy in charge of a firm looking to return to its manufacturing roots, according to a source close to the firm.

In April we reported that Kevin Surace, the man who since 2008 led Serious Materials through a changing set of business strategies -- green building materials, energy efficiency software, project financing -- was no longer CEO. He lost the job in February, and was listed as chairman and co-founder, while Marc Porat, co-founder of Serious and a handful of other Silicon Valley green startups, had taken the helm. Surace is now listed on LinkedIn as the CEO of PushToTest, which according to the company website is "an open-source web and application load and performance testing tool that tests processes that use Rich Internet Applications." Frank Cohen is still listed as CEO and Founder of PushToTest on the company website.

Jeff St. John did an investigation into the shifting personnel and business plans at Serious earlier this year.

 

LS9, a South San Francisco-based a maker of sustainable chemicals, hired Jon Foster as CFO. Foster was previously CFO and EVP at Atempo, and prior to that CFO of Keymage and SVP at publicly traded 8x8. LS9 is funded by Flagship Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Chevron Technology Ventures, and BlackRock, and recently named Tjerk de Ruiter as its Board Chairman.




SPG Solar, a large commercial solar power installer, named Doug May as CEO. For the past nine years, May was President and CEO of Unirac, and prior to that he was VP of Worldwide Sales, Service and Marketing at Xantrex.    

 

Power Analytics named Michael J. Nark as the firm’s new President and CEO. Power Analytics's software is used in mission-critical facilities and microgrids.

Bloomberg has revealed that First Solar’s SVP for project engineering, construction and maintenance, James Lamon, has left the firm. 

Aaron Thurlow has left CIGS vendor Stion, where he was VP of Global Sales.

Helen Edwards has left PG&E, where she served as Director, Emerging Markets, Customer Energy Solutions.

According to sources, Jesse Pichel has left his energy analyst position at Jeffries.
