Mr. Sanchit Agarwal is responsible for Nearmap’s US field operations, in particular, its technical face to the customer. Sanchit has worked extensively in mapping and geographic information systems, and is an expert on capturing and utilizing data to analyze and make decisions related to positions on Earth. Sanchit has mentored large scale, multi-million dollar mapping projects from conceptualization to execution.  Altogether with over 14 years of experience in the field of Geomatics, he has worked extensively in both production and R&D environments. He has served as a Director of Operations for Sanborn, as Chief Technology Officer and Director of Operations for HJW Geospatial (Quantum Spatial), as a Senior Analyst on mapping and SME for Fugro, and was a Research Associate for NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Program at The Ohio State University. During his career, he has gained extensive experience in end-to-end production workflows for high accuracy data processing from multiple sensor platforms: aerial/terrestrial; push-broom/frame sensors; panoramic/oblique imaging systems; LADAR/RADAR systems. He has managed a portfolio of 50 million dollar worth of mapping projects.
Sanchit has a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology  and a Master of Science degree in Mapping and GIS from The Ohio State University. Sanchit is also a Certified Photogrammetrist (ASPRS) and a Certified Mapping Scientist LiDAR & GIS (ASPRS). His interests include technology and engineering around Multi-view Multi-dimensional Mapping content, Advanced 3D information capture and dissemination, Automated feature-extraction using AI and Machine Learning, Process-Automation and Workflow Optimization.
