U.S. PV System Pricing H1 2018: Forecasts and Breakdowns

by Ben Gallagher

Prices fell across all market segments in H1 2018, even with the implementation of module and steel tariffs, with single-axis tracking systems seeing the greatest drop. Customer-acquisition costs have risen for residential PV systems, with six states still seeing averages above $3.25/Wdc. Section 201 tariffs on imported crystalline silicon cells and modules were approved by the Trump administration in February 2018, which will have a significant impact on module pricing, but one not as dramatic as many feared.
