The solar industry saw strong installations totaling 99 GW globally in 2017. More than half of the annual capacity was installed in China. Key markets U.S. and India faced policy uncertainties pertaining to module tariffs but still added significant solar capacity. 

This brief report summarizes the most important global solar trends of 2017, and it provides an overview of the market forces that will shape 2018.
