Solar Project: Recurrent Energy’s 50MW for Sacramento MUD

50 megawatts in Kammerer, Bruceville, and Dillard

GTM Research's Utility PV Market Tracker keeps tabs on all 500-plus utility-scale solar projects in the United States, including Recurrent Energy’s 50-megawatt installation for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD).

The utility-scale installation is located at three sites in southern Sacramento County, with 19 megawatts in Kammerer, 19 megawatts in Bruceville, and 12 megawatts in Dillard. Array Technologies recently shipped its first DuraTrack HZ system for the project. The horizontal, single-axis tracking systems will be used at all three sites, with the Dillard site also using DuraRack fixed arrays. The installation is currently under construction and is expected online next spring. Swinerton Renewable Energy is acting as the project's engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) provider.

Part of SMUD’s feed-in tariff (FIT) program, the Recurrent Energy installation has a 20-year contract with the utility at a rate of $0.111 per kilowatt-hour.
