Inform - European Energy Giants Acquire 9 DER Flexibility Service Providers in 2017

In the latest of distributed energy market activity, British multinational Centrica acquired Belgium-based demand response aggregator REstore for $81.4 million on November 3, 2017.

This news comes a week after Italian multinational Enel snatched up e-mobility startup eMotorWerks (for an undisclosed amount) through its recently acquired subsidiary, EnerNOC.

This short report summarizes Centrica’s repositioning strategy and its distributed energy and power unit, and what the potential of REstore is in that strategy.
