We start off this week's jobs digest in software.

Energy management firm Ecova brought on Mathias Lelievre as its new president and CEO. The 20-year-old company is now a subsidiary of multinational utility Engie. Lelievre was most recently head of Engie’s "green mobility" program.

Ecova is competing in the crowded C&I energy management sector, and Lelievre will expand the company's energy and sustainability software solutions in the market. Ecova acquired efficiency analytics startup Retroficiency in 2015.

Distributed energy resource management software provider AutoGrid appointed Christopher Sternberg as its COO. He will oversee AutoGrid’s business strategy. Previously, Sternberg was managing director at Genscape, a market data platform for energy and commodity markets. Before Genscape, he was global director at Platts. AutoGrid is one of many players competing in aggregating distributed resources as virtual power plants.

Stuart Statman is the new head of product and engineering at Portland-based Powin Energy. The company recently announced it is selling its entire project portfolio, comprising around 100 megawatt-hours of energy storage assets, and will then refinance and focus on product development. Statman comes from Sunverge, where he was SVP of technology and the company’s first employee.

Doug Little has moved from commissioner at the Arizona Corporation Commission to the U.S. Department of Energy as deputy assistant secretary for intergovernmental and external affairs.

The California State Senate has confirmed two commissioners, Martha Guzman Aceves and Clifford Rechtschaffen. The commissioners were previously appointed by Governor Jerry Brown at the end of last year. Both have previously worked in the governor’s office since 2011.

Former Federal Energy Regulatory Commission chairman Norman Bay has joined the Washington law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher as partner in the corporate and financial services department. He will head up the energy regulatory and enforcement group.

Watson Collins is now a technical executive with the Electric Power Research Institute. He had spent the previous 20 years in various positions with Northeast Utilities, which merged with NSTAR in 2012 to become Eversource Energy.

Cypress Creek Renewables has hired Jenya Meydbray as VP of solar technology, where he will work on product optimization. He previously held positions with DNV GL and SunPower, and was CEO of independent solar testing lab PV Evolution Labs. 

Tidal energy firm Minesto is updating its C-suite. David Collier is the new COO and Bernt Erik Westre is taking over for Heije Westberg as CTO. CEO Bengt Adolfsson says the changes will help Minesto commercialize faster. After nearly a decade of testing and prototypes, the company received a marine license for its first commercial installation in the Irish Sea earlier this year.

David Fernandez, who held various positions at SunEdison, including more than two years at its YieldCo TerraForm Power, is now at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, according to Power Finance & Risk.

Rhode Island renewable developer Green Development has brought on Al Bucknam as CEO. Bucknam was previously CEO at REC Solar in California and also CEO at SunDurance Energy in New Jersey. He will help the firm transition from being a wind developer to include solar, energy storage and biomass.

Krista Kisch is the VP of development at Seventus Generation, a renewable development financier. She was most recently director of development at NextEra Energy Transmission and previously with Apex Clean Energy, OCI Solar Power and BrightSource.

Kevin Johnson is now president of energy storage developer GlidePath Power. He was a co-founder of Clean Capital and also recently joined the board of directors of the American Resilience Project.
