Mitsubishi Motors Corp. exhibited the PX-MiEV plug-in hybrid concept car that can provide electricity to a house at the Tokyo Motor Show 2009, which opens to the public from Oct. 24 through Nov. 4, 2009.
With the concept of vehicle to home (V2H), the vehicle can supply 100V electricity stored in its on-board lithium-ion batteries to electric appliances in a house. Mitsubishi Motors has yet to determine when it will commercialize the vehicle.
"It is possible to charge the batteries at night, when electricity is cheaper, and use it for home appliances during the daytime," the company said.
