GTM Research and Solichamba this week released the Global PV Monitoring 2017-2022 report, and in it, ranked the top PV monitoring software providers.

Without further ado, here are the top five based on global monitored fleet as measured in megawatts, as of mid-2017:

1. SMA (17,061 monitored megawatts)
2. Meteocontrol (12,998 monitored megawatts)
3. SDS (Solar-Log) (12,157 monitored megawatts)
4. GreenPowerMonitor (8,233 monitored megawatts)
5. Inaccess/Draker (7,052 monitored megawatts)

The report notes that SMA posted strong numbers through the first half of the year, strengthening its lead over meteocontrol and SDS.

GreenPowerMonitor, now owned by DNV GL, was the fastest-growing monitoring firm in the first six months of the year. The company jumped from seventh to fourth place in the rankings over the past 18 months.

According to GTM Research and Solichamba, the total addressable market for monitoring software will grow by 90 gigawatts in 2017 to reach 395 gigawatts, and the adoption of monitoring solutions is increasing in most markets.
