Paul De Martini has left his role as Cisco's Chief Technology Officer and electric utility pro. De Martini is moving to a new consulting firm, Newport Consulting Group. He will continue to work with Cisco on a contracted basis in the area of gridonomics, Cisco’s smart grid business architecture framework.

Soladigm, a developer of electrochromic glass for buildings, appointed Jim Pape to the role of Chief Commercial Officer. Pape was most recently president of SunPower’s global residential and commercial business units. Soladigm’s product electronically switches glass windows from clear to tinted. The firm claims the ability to "reduce HVAC energy usage by 25 percent and peak load by 30 percent in commercial buildings."
