The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) selected Bill Magness as its next president and CEO. Magness, currently ERCOT's GC and senior VP for governance, risk and compliance, replaces Trip Doggett, who will retire in 2016.

SMA Solar Technology has called on Marko Wittich, the inverter firm’s current EVP of sales for the Americas, to also assume the president and GM roles for SMA’s U.S.-based arm. SMA is looking to increase its presence in Mexico, Chile and Brazil. 

Itron appointed Tom Deitrich as EVP and COO. Deitrich most recently served as senior VP and GM for digital networking at Freescale.

Car Charging Group, an owner and operator of electric vehicle EV charging services, named Mike Calise as CEO. Prior to CarCharging, Calise served as the head of North America EV solutions at Schneider Electric. Former CEO Michael Farkas will continue to serve as chairman.

Utilidata, a volt/VAR optimization firm that works with utilities, named CJ Meiser as COO. Before joining Utilidata, Meiser was VP at Schneider Electric where he launched that company's data center monitoring system.   

Bob Bellemare has joined solar racking company Array Tech as CFO. Previously, Bellemare was CEO at UtiliPoint International.   

Sierra Peterson is now VP of corporate development at Renovate America. Previously, Peterson was director of business development at Clean Power Finance. Earlier this year, Renovate America completed its third securitization of property-assessed clean energy (PACE) bonds with $240 million in clean energy and water efficiency projects.

Jordan Collins has moved to commercial PACE financing firm CBJ Energy as VP and general counsel. Previously, Collins was director of government relations at Mintz Levin. The "CBJ" in CBJ Energy is Claire Broido Johnson, currently with Next Step Living and previously with Serious Energy, and before that, with the DOE. The firm is "focusing on Mid-Atlantic markets," according to Collins' LinkedIn entry.

Jenya Meydbray was promoted to VP of strategy and business development at DNV GL. Medbray was the founder of solar test lab PV Evolution Labs, acquired by DNV GL last year.

Brad Sunshine, formerly senior director of OEM sales at microinverter startup SolarBridge (acquired by SunPower), is now VP of sales at energy storage management software maker Greensmith Energy Management Systems.

Matt Price is entrepreneur in residence for commercial operations and industry partnerships at Cyclotron Road, an early-stage energy technology incubation program at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Price was VP of channel development at Enlighted and, before that, a principal at Nth Power.

Libby Wayman has been global director of GE's Ecomagination program since May (apologies for missing this). She was previously director of the DOE's clean energy manufacturing initiative. 

Competitive Power Ventures, developing wind and natural gas, hired former New York Independent System Operator senior VP of external and regulatory affairs Thomas Rumsey as its VP of external affairs. Rumsey joins CPV after more than five years leading external affairs activities at NYISO and 10 years of public affairs experience with General Electric's corporate, nuclear, and power and water divisions.  

Edgar Gunther, formerly a senior field applications engineer at Spansion, is now the QA/QC manager at Syntegra Solar. Ed was also the author of the solar blog The Gunther Portfolio.
