General Fusion and Joule get new CEOs

Nathan Gilliland joined General Fusion, a developer of magnetized target fusion, as CEO. Gilliland is the former President and co-founder of Harvest Power, a firm that converts organic waste to compost or power. The firm claims that it is developing "the fastest, most practical, and lowest-cost path to commercial fusion energy." Investors include Chrysalix Energy Venture Capital, Bezos Expeditions, Cenovus Energy and Sustainable Development Technology Canada.    

Joule named Paul Snaith as President and CEO. He was most recently COO at the firm. He assumes the role from Noubar Afeyan, Executive Chairman and founder of Joule. Dr. Snaith previously spent twenty-four years at Shell, including serving as VP of Downstream Marketing for Shell Global Solutions. Joule claims to have developed "a solar platform for the conversion of waste CO2 into valuable fuels and chemicals." Investors include Flagship Ventures and Rusnano.

Executive moves in solar

Microinverter firm Enphase just added Richard Mora, the COO of Landis+Gyr, to its Board of Directors. 

REC Solar has promoted John Hostetter to VP of Engineering.

SunEdison added Todd Michaels, formerly of NRG Energy, as VP of Product Innovations.

Gautam Ganguly is now VP of Engineering at Banyan Energy.

More executive moves in cleantech

Shoibal Banerjee has been named VP of Technology and Innovation at Oorja, a developer of methanol fuel cells. Dr. Banerjee spent the last 30 years developing important fuel cell membrane technology at DuPont.

Sean Moran and Michael Joyce have joined WSGR's Energy and Infrastructure Practice.

Lamar Chambers, former CFO and SVP at Ashland, a chemical company with more than $8 billion in revenue, joined the Board of Directors at Lehigh Technologies, a maker of micronized rubber powder.
