The national and regional solar industry has much to look forward to with renewed confidence in the market after the re-election of President Barack Obama. Under the Obama administration the industry has doubled the number of installed solar energy systems in the United States and the amount of solar power in homes, businesses and military bases grew by 400 percent.

Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) CEO and President Rhone Resch congratulated the President on his reelection. “To date, the Obama Administration has created and supported pro-solar policies that have been vital to the success of the industry,” Resch said in an official congratulatory statement. He says he looks forward to working with him over the next four years towards a common goal in creating an expanding the solar market.

In recent years, the Mid-Atlantic region has made tremendous strides developing a new energy economy, particularly in the solar sector. Governor O’Malley ushered in many valuable policies for the industry in Maryland, and now Virginia can key in as the bright spot on the East Coast with a changing political climate and additional opportunities for companies along the solar supply chain. MDV-SEIA’s upcoming 6th Annual Solar Energy Focus 2012 conference will give the solar community the opportunity to hear about how these exciting political developments are projected to unfold in the coming months and years, both regionally and nationally.

Solar Energy Focus 2012 is the first solar industry conference since the election. With hundreds of influential voices and industry stakeholders coming together, it will provide the ideal venue to assess the post-election solar market and evaluate how solar energy will fare as we enter into 2013 and beyond. Join MDV-SEIA for this marquee event on Nov. 27 & 28 at the Marriott at Metro Center in Washington, D.C. For more information visit www.solarenergyfocusconference.com.
