FRANKFURT, Germany -- Feast your eyes on this! It's an all-electric Bugatti.

From 1931.

Executives from the Volkswagen Group, which owns Bugatti, brought out this car during a party on the eve of the International Auto Show taking place this week in Frankfurt. Ettore Bugatti had it made for himself in 1931 as a way to check on the production line. He had to ride a horse before that. The car was subsequently purchased by the King of Belgium, said Franz-Joseph Paefger, who runs the Bugatti and Bentley labels for the conglomerate.

Paefger also trotted out a new Bentley, the Musanne as well as a two-door Bugatti sports car, the Pur Sang. 250 of the newcarbon fiber customized Bugattis have already been sold. They cost around $1.9 million.
