Addressing the Next Superstorm: Breaking Down Silos and Optimizing the Outage Lifecycle Process

Superstorm Sandy led to one of eleven outages in 2012 that caused over $1 billion in damages. Outages caused by these storms and other emergency events are exposing limitations in current outage management processes and technologies creating dissatisfaction among customers, policy makers and regulators. Over the last year, this dissatisfaction has increasingly resulted in legislative and regulatory initiatives to create incentives and/or punitive measures to connect outage response to utilities’ bottom lines.

This webinar will examine approaches and technologies that can improve planning; optimize resource mobilization; and reduce time spent driving to locate outages, manually isolating faults, and evaluating on-site damage by leveraging the convergence operations and information technology across the entire outage lifecycle.
