Quantifying the Impact of Module Level Power Electronics

Tuesday August 28, 2012 2:00 PM ET/11:00 AM PT

As module-level electronics grow in popularity, their impact on photovoltaic system performance and maintenance must become more rigorously understood. Rather than rule-of-thumb estimates, solar system engineers now have new tools to more accurately predict the energy impact of module power control.

This webinar will explain new performance modeling tools, and how they are dramatically changing PV system design techniques. We will share case studies where module-level power electronics can increase a system's ROI by expanding system size and performance. We will also showcase analysis of mismatch characteristics from a number of data sets to help system designers build smarter systems.

Engineers, system integrators, and professionals in the solar industry should register now to hear about the impact of module level power electronics from Tigo Energy's Director of Marketing, Paul Grana, and GTM Research Senior Solar Analyst, MJ Shiao. Shiao is the author of Thin Film 2012–2016: Technologies, Markets and Strategies for Survival and The Global PV Inverter Landscape: Technology and Market Trends, 2011-2015.
