• Plasco Energy, which has developed plasma arc technology for waste-to-energy and coal treatment applications, announced they raised a C$7.3M round (including C$4.5M from lead funder Killick Capital) to fund facilities in Ottawa and Barcelona. A pdf of the announcement is available here.

• Several articles came out early this week discussing cleantech investing issues, including an article by Matt Marshall in the Merc, an article by Clean Break blogger Tyler Hamilton in the Toronto Star, a column by Rona Fried regarding the connection between cleantech and nanotech (with a good quote by Tim Draper), and an article in Barron's on the PV boom (thanks to Tyler for giving the heads up on that one).

• Today's fun read: This article from the Montreal Gazette about attempts to create add-ons to the internal combustion engine to make it burn more efficiently. Certainly, the internal combustion engine isn't going away anytime soon.
