Dominion Voltage Inc.'s patent for tapping certain smart meters as “dynamic bellwether sensors” to help utilities more accurately control how they maintain grid voltage. A jury recently upheld the company's patent rights to the technology in a lawsuit. (story)

Forecasted annual storage installations in Australia by 2020, according to GTM Research. This week, engineering consultancy Aurecon published findings indicating that the financial impact of adding batteries to residential PV is negative. (story)
