Silver Spring Networks (SSNI) announced that Jim Burns, most recently with Hewlett-Packard, will join the smart grid networking company as CFO and EVP.  The firm's current CFO and Vice Chairman, John Joyce, will continue as Vice Chairman.  

 

Goldman Sachs Group named Stuart Bernstein, global head of its clean technology and renewables group, to serve as head of a group targeting VC investors, according to the Wall Street Journal. Bernstein's effort at Goldman Sachs’s is to finance $40 billion of renewables by 2022.

 

eRecyclingCorps, providing mobile device trade-in and recycling/refurbishment, named Brian Wing as CFO. Wing was most recently CFO of Consolidated Electrical Distributors. The company claims to be "the market-leading device trade-in platform with more than 50 percent market share working directly with carriers."  The firm had 1.1 million trade-ins in May using its "carrier-grade incentivized, mobile device trade-in and reuse solutions."

 

SOLON, providing solar energy solutions in North America, named John Kintz as managing director of the project finance group and Jeff Calabro as senior director of procurement and acquisitions.

 

Silicor added Mark Pinto to its board of directors. Pinto was most recently EVP at Applied Materials, where he founded Applied's solar hardware unit.

 

SPI Solar, a solar developer and EPC contractor traded on the OTC, named Charlotte Xi as interim CFO.
