David Dreessen, formerly a partner at Battery Ventures, has rejoined the productive workforce as Chief Financial Officer of GlassPoint Solar. GlassPoint is using solar power in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and provides solar steam generators to the oil and gas markets.

Moving from Abound Solar to MiaSolé -- in other words, from frying pan to fire -- Michael Povlin, former director of sales and marketing in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at troubled CdTe solar vendor Abound Solar, is now Director of Sales and Marketing in EMEA at troubled CIGS solar vendor MiaSolé.

SoloPower appointed General Wesley K. Clark (U.S., retired), former NATO Supreme Allied Commander of Europe and former U.S. presidential candidate, to SoloPower’s Board of Directors. Clark is co-chairman of Growth Energy, an ethanol lobbying organization, and a board director of BNK Petroleum, a shale gas developer and producer.

David Hogg is the new CEO of Innotech Solar. He was formerly Suntech’s COO, based in China. The Norway-based Innotech builds solar PV modules from "off-spec solar cells."

Gaetan Borgers is now the executive VP of CPV system manufacturer Soitec's Solar Energy Division. Borgers joins after a long career at Dow Corning, including more than 10 years in charge of solar programs.

Green Charge Networks (GCN) of Brooklyn, N.Y., named Ryan Prosser as President and COO of the smart grid and energy storage technology startup.

Solar installer Real Goods Solar (Nasdaq:RSOL) appointed John Coletta as CFO.

Amyris (Nasdaq: AMRS) named Steven Mills, formerly of ADM, as its new CFO.
