Elaine Ulrich of the DOE is now on detail at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy as a senior policy advisor for energy. At the DOE, Ulrich leads the SunShot balance-of-systems soft-costs team.

Cathy Zoi, formerly the CEO of SunEdison Frontier Power, is now CEO of Axess Energy, a firm driving rural electrification "by making solar mini-grids profitable and scalable." Emily McAteer is chief revenue officer and Sasan Aminpour is COO; both are former SunEdison employees.

​P​olly Shaw ​is now VP of regulatory affairs and communications at energy storage company, Stem. Most recently Shaw served as VP of external affairs at SunEdison, and before that as senior director of external relations at Suntech America and senior regulatory analyst at the California Public Utilities Commission.

Pegasus Capital Advisors added Thomas Emmons as partner to focus on mezzanine capital in renewable energy and clean infrastructure. Prior to joining Pegasus, Emmons held roles at Rabobank and HSH Nordbank. David Crane, former president and CEO of energy company NRG, joined Pegasus as its senior operating executive in April. Craig Cogut founded Pegasus, a $2 billion private equity fund that specializes in "sourcing, buying, and building middle-market companies that compete on the basis of sustainability and resource efficiency."

First Solar's former CEO Jim Hughes will no longer serve in an advisory capacity or as a board member at the thin-film solar module builder and utility solar developer. Mark Widmar was appointed CEO earlier this year.

Daniel Hullah, formerly director of ventures at National Grid, is now managing director at GE Ventures.

Ted Feierstein, previously with SunEdison, is now CCO and co-founder of Pacific New Energy, a firm providing solar energy for multinational corporations in China.   

LED manufacturer Lighting Science appointed Ute Besenecker as senior scientist and product line director. Besenecker comes to Lighting Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Daniel Yergin, vice chairman of IHS Markit and author of The Quest, a Pulitzer Prize-winning book about the oil industry, has joined The Carlyle Group as a senior advisor.
