Job Description

Analysts conduct original quantitative and qualitative research on the market and deliver analysis through the creation of data services, written reports, public speaking, and consulting engagements. GTM Research promotes analysts as industry thought leaders and experts and as such, analysts must be thoughtful, intellectually curious, creative and comfortable presenting to public audiences and interacting with small groups of executives. Hallmarks of great GTM Research analysts include an insatiable curiosity about solar and the broader energy market context with the tenacity, critical thinking, and discipline to transform data and trends into actionable insights.

Analysts are responsible for their own lines of research and are quickly given responsibility over research products. The analyst will work with the Director of Solar Research and other members of the solar analyst team to capitalize on market trends through the creation and implementation of research products that serve existing clients, attract new partners, promote the GTM Research brand, and ultimately advance the maturity and competitiveness of the global solar industry.

Responsibilities

The Analyst will join a small, high-performing team, with a strong emphasis on collaborating with others in all aspects of the job. The Analyst is expected to:

  • Develop a deep understanding of what GTM Research's clients require to be successful as they navigate the complex and ever-changing solar market
  • Lead primary data collection, both qualitative and quantitative, on PV module and upstream material supply, technology trends, drivers, pricing, offerings, and company-specific competitiveness.
  • Refine and maintain GTM Research’s global upstream PV data trackers and analysis
  • Present to clients and industry stakeholders at trade shows, GTM conferences, and other events
  • Manage existing and new research reports and data service products on the upstream solar market
  • Collaborate with peers across GTM Research and Greentech Media in order to support research reports, conferences, marketing services and editorial
  • Work directly with sales and marketing via internal and external communications to help generate new sales, build larger programs for existing clients, and effectively market completed research
  • Consult with clients to apply GTM’s solar research in the context of their specific business environment, and help solve their problems through inquiry, advisory and other custom consulting opportunities

Requirements

Job Description

Analysts conduct original quantitative and qualitative market research and deliver analysis through written reports, consulting, client inquiries, and speaking engagements. As a part of GTM Research's energy storage research team, the analysts serve clients who are responsible for the success of their firm’s technology roadmap, competitive analysis/positioning, product/market positioning and energy storage (hardware and software) deployment strategies.

The Analyst corresponds with, presents to, and advises vendors, developers and utility industry professionals on GTM's analysis regarding the changing landscape of the energy storage market in the U.S. and abroad. The Analyst, Energy Storage will focus on analysis of energy storage markets, including demand analysis and forecasting, competitive assessment, and project economic analysis. This research will encompass market assessment, cost benchmarking and forecasting, strategy identification and competitive analysis. This research will advise electric utilities, technology vendors, investors and service providers on the future of energy storage markets in the U.S. and abroad.

Responsibilities

The Analyst works as part of a small, high-performance analyst team in addition to collaborating with Greentech Media’s editorial, marketing and conferences teams. The Analyst is expected to:


  • Develop a deep understanding of what GTM Research's clients require to be successful, with a focus on cost effectively addressing critical business problems
  • Conduct primary research on energy storage markets, business models and economics
  • Build detailed economic models for different energy storage applications
  • Write industry-leading research reports regarding trends, vendors and strategies across the energy storage landscape
  • Collaborate with peers across GTM Research and Greentech Media in order to support research reports, data services, advisory services and conferences (agenda definition, speaker recruitment, moderating and speaking)
  • Author multiple reports per year and actively develop visibility for this research and GTM Research through press, social media, and elsewhere
  • Contribute to GTM Research's growing base of data tracking and database-oriented products and services
  • Work directly with sales and marketing via internal and external communications to actively help generate new sales, build larger programs for existing clients, and effectively market completed research
  • Present at GTM-sponsored and industry-related events, and moderate client webinars
  • Establish an industry presence as an influential speaker and thinker; build relationships with senior industry professionals (vendors and utilities) as well as with the journalists who cover the sector; and participate in vendor briefings and press inquiries as necessary

Position Requirements

Job Description

The Client Relations specialist will act as the primary point of contact for clients and manage the client relationship. This person will work directly with GTM solar clients and work closely with the GTM Solar Sales team. This includes on-boarding new clients, managing client inquiries & briefings, running check-in calls, and monitoring account usage. This person will understand how best to work with various GTM clients to meet their needs and be able to identify business development opportunities.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Act as primary point of contact for GTM Solar Research subscribers
  • Execute and manage the client on-boarding process including leading the kick-off call and ensuring their account is set-up appropriately
  • Manage all client inquiries and ensure they are responded to in a timely fashion with the appropriate supporting research and/or analyst response
  • Proactively reach out to clients for check-in calls and ensure their needs are being met and there is a high level of engagement
  • Provide client feedback and ideas to GTM Research analyst, sales and marketing teams
  • Identify business development opportunities and work the GTM Sales Team to upsell clients
  • Monitor online account usage and pull quarterly reports to ensure engagement
  • Manage and schedule analyst meetings for clients at trade shows and GTM conferences

Position Requirements:

  • B.A. / B.S. Degree
  • 1-3 years experience in sales and/or client relations
  • Experience is a research organization is a plus, but not required
  • Extremely strong organization and communication skills
  • Eagerness to meet goals and contribute in a team environment
